EFCC on November 18, 2025 arrested one Archbishop Angel Oyeghe for conspiracy, naira mutilation and suspected money laundering.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested Archbishop Angel Oyeghe on November 18, 2025, for conspiracy, naira mutilation, and suspected money laundering. The arrest followed a viral video showing individuals spraying naira notes on a live cow during a church program at her Faith Healing Ministry in Warri, Delta State.

Oyeghe has made useful statements to investigators and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.  The EFCC is also tracking other suspects involved in the incident, as their actions contravene Section 21 of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007.
