US To Provide Intelligence Support, Defence Equipment To Nigeria~  Presidency says

The US is stepping up its support for Nigeria’s security efforts, with plans to provide intelligence support and defense equipment. This move is part of a broader strategy to counter violence, particularly against Christians, and comes after President Donald Trump threatened possible military action and warned of going in “guns-a-blazing” to wipe out Islamic militants.

The US approach involves diplomatic tools, assistance programs, and intelligence sharing with the Nigerian government. This collaboration aims to address Nigeria’s insecurity issues, which have been decades in the making.

Some experts question the effectiveness of military action, citing risks to troops and potential civilian casualties. The Nigerian government has rejected unilateral military intervention but welcomes help fighting armed groups.

The US is also working with Nigeria to establish advanced weapons production lines, including drones, radars, and biometric systems, to boost Nigeria’s defense capabilities.
