Kano state Rep Abdulmumin Jibrin Joins APC Two Months After Expulsion From NNPP.

Kano state Rep Abdulmumin Jibrin has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) two months after being expelled from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP). Jibrin, who represents Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency, made the announcement on Monday, citing his decision to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. He was warmly received by thousands of supporters in his hometown of Kofa, Bebeji, Kano, where he renounced his membership in the NNPP and the Kwankwasiyya Movement.

Jibrin’s defection comes after his expulsion from NNPP over alleged anti-party activities and non-payment of membership dues. He previously served as Director-General of the Tinubu Support Groups before joining NNPP in 2022. Over 2,000 Islamic clerics offered special prayers for President Tinubu and peace in Kano and Nigeria at large during Jibrin’s defection rally.
