The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) are indeed going on a one-day protest tomorrow, October 9, 2025, over the Federal Government’s failure to meet their demands.
Their Key Demands Include:
– Unjust Disbursement of N50 Billion Earned Allowances
– Delay in Renegotiating the 2009 FGN/NASU/SSANU Agreement
– Non-payment of Outstanding Two Months’ Salaries
– Non-payment of Arrears of 25% and 35% Salary Arrears
– Non-remittance of Third-Party Deductions for May and June 2022
The unions had given the government a seven-day ultimatum, which was later extended by 14 days, but their demands remain unresolved. They’re urging all members in federal and state universities to participate in the protest, which will include marches, placard displays, and press conferences.
