Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has approved N1 billion to procure essential medical equipment for primary healthcare facilities across the state’s 13 local government areas. This initiative aims to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve medical services in the state.

Key Highlights:

– Medical Equipment: The procured equipment will include basic medical tools such as blood pressure machines, glucometers, thermometers, weighing scales, and more advanced equipment like ultrasound scanners, centrifuges, and microscopes.
– Primary Healthcare Upgrades: The initiative is part of the state’s effort to upgrade primary healthcare facilities, with 80 out of 147 facilities already completed and the remaining ones expected to be finished before 2027.
– Recruitment of Health Workers: In addition to the equipment procurement, Governor Sule has also approved the recruitment of 2,267 trained health workers, including doctors, nurses, midwives, and laboratory staff, to serve in the state’s primary healthcare facilities.
– Collaboration with the World Bank: The N1 billion approval is part of a collaboration between the Nasarawa State government and the World Bank to revitalize primary healthcare centers across the state.
