Asari Dokubo, the Amanyanabo of Torusarama Piri, has pledged his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. Dokubo made this assurance when Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, visited him in his palace in Degema, Rivers State. Dokubo emphasized that Tinubu stood by him in his time of need, and it’s now his turn to return the favor.
Wike, who has been touring local government areas in Rivers State, received Dokubo’s assurance as part of his efforts to rally support for Tinubu’s re-election. Dokubo stated, “Everything that I am capable of doing, I will do to make sure that he succeeds”.
This development comes amid tensions within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, with Wike facing opposition from some party leaders, including APC National Secretary Ajibola Basiru.
