Mayowa Lambe, also known as Aftermanowa, has issued a cease-and-desist notice to her estranged husband, media personality Robert Ekpo aka Roby Ekpo. This comes after Roby made comments about her on _The Honest Bunch_ podcast.
Her legal team, through Aunt Landa’s Bethel Foundation, is demanding that Roby retract the statements, alleging they are false, malicious, and defamatory. The notice also includes a demand for ₦100 million in damages.
Roby responded through his lawyers at TAP Legal Services on April 23. His team said he categorically denies the allegations and takes strong exception to his statements being called false or defamatory. They stated that his comments were based on personal experiences and matters he believes to be true, with no intent to injure her reputation. They called the ₦100m demand excessive, unfounded, and premature, and said the deadline given was unreasonable given the disputed facts.
At this point, Mayowa has formally initiated legal action with a cease-and-desist, and Roby’s side has responded that they can defend the comments and are ready to meet her in court if it goes further.
