The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has arrested eight suspected human traffickers and rescued 29 foreign victims in Abuja. The suspects are believed to be part of a notorious transnational trafficking syndicate operating between Nigeria and Ghana.NAPTIP’s Director-General, Binta Bello, emphasized the agency’s commitment to dismantling trafficking networks, ensuring justice for victims, and strengthening partnerships to eradicate human trafficking. The agency has transferred the rescued victims to a safe shelter and commenced discussions with diplomatic missions regarding their repatriation and rehabilitation.
