Mayowa Lambe, also known as Aftermanowa, served her estranged husband, media personality Robert Ekpo aka Roby Ekpo, with a cease-and-desist notice. This followed claims Roby made about her during an appearance on _The Honest Bunch_ podcast.
Roby’s legal team at TAP Legal Services responded publicly on April 23. They stated that Roby categorically denies the allegations and takes strong exception to his statements being characterized as false, malicious, or defamatory. According to his lawyers, any statements he made were based on his personal experiences and understanding of events, and he did not act with malice or intent to injure Mayowa’s reputation.
His legal team described Mayowa’s demand for ₦100,000,000.00 in damages as excessive, unfounded, and premature. They also said the deadline given by Mayowa’s team was unreasonable and inconsistent with established legal practice given the disputed facts involved.
So far, Mayowa’s side sent legal papers demanding a retraction and damages, and Roby’s side replied that he stands by his comments and is prepared to meet her in court.
