A British woman visiting her father in Texas was fatally sh%t following a heated argument about U.S President Donald Trump, an inquest has heard.
Lucy Harrison, 23, from Warrington, was sh%t in the chest on 10 January 2025 in Prosper, near Dallas. Police investigated the d+ath as possible mansl@ughter, but no charges were filed after a Collin County grand jury declined to indict her father, Kris Harrison.
At Cheshire Coroner’s Court, Lucy’s boyfriend, Sam Littler, described a “big argument” earlier that day over Trump, who was preparing for a second-term inauguration. Littler said Lucy often became upset when her father spoke about g¥ns. The inquest heard that Kris Harrison, who moved to the US during Lucy’s childhood, had a history of alcohol addiction and had relapsed that day, drinking about 500ml of white wine.
Littler recalled that during the argument, Lucy asked her father: “How would you feel if I was the girl in that situation and I’d been s+xually ass@ulted?” Harrison reportedly replied he had two other daughters, so it wouldn’t upset him as much. Upset, Lucy ran upstairs.
Later, about 30 minutes before leaving for the airport, Harrison led Lucy into his bedroom to show her his Glock 9mm handg¥n. According to his statement, as he lifted the g¥n, a loud bang was heard, and Lucy fell immediately. Harrison said he did not know if his finger was on the trigger. He admitted to a brief alcohol lapse that day and claimed he had bought the g¥n years earlier for family security.
Police noted the smell of alcohol on Harrison’s breath. CCTV footage confirmed he had purchased two 500ml cartons of Chardonnay shortly before the sho%ting.
