Manchester United have sacked manager Ruben Amorim following a breakdown in relations behind the scenes.

Manchester United has indeed sacked Ruben Amorim as their head coach following a breakdown in relations within the organization. Amorim, who was appointed in November 2024, had a turbulent 14-month tenure, marked by inconsistent results and growing tensions with the club’s hierarchy, including director of football Jason Wilcox.

The decision to part ways with Amorim was made after a meeting with CEO Omar Berrada and Wilcox, with the club citing a need for change to achieve a higher Premier League finish. Amorim’s last game was a 1-1 draw against Leeds United, which left United sixth in the Premier League table.

Former midfielder Darren Fletcher will take over as interim manager, starting with Wednesday’s game against Burnley.
