Mozambique’s President, Daniel Francisco Chapo, has promised each player and member of the national team coaching staff a whopping N11.3 million if they beat Nigeria and advance to the quarter-finals of the AFCON. This bonus is equivalent to 500,000 meticais, and it’s a testament to the nation’s confidence in the Mambas’ ability to pull off an upset against the Super Eagles.
The Mambas have already made history by qualifying for the round of 16, finishing third in Group F despite a 2-1 defeat to Cameroon. Now, they’re set to face Nigeria at the Complexe Sportif de Fès on January 5, with kickoff scheduled for 8 pm.
