The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Reno Omokri on his nomination as ambassador-designate by President Bola Tinubu. The party’s state chairman, Omeni Sobotie, praised Omokri’s diverse professional background, citing his experience in public policy, advocacy, media engagement, and humanitarian initiatives as qualifications for the role.
Sobotie noted that Omokri’s nomination reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to recognizing competence, experience, and national service. The party urged Omokri to maintain his values of hard work, humility, and patriotism in his new role .
However, not everyone is pleased with Omokri’s nomination. The Delta Democrats Forum (DDF) has called for his withdrawal, citing concerns over his temperament and online behavior, which they believe are incompatible with diplomatic responsibilities .
