The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expelled Leke Abejide, its only member in the National Assembly, over alleged acts of indiscipline. The National Working Committee (NWC) of the party ratified the decision made by the Kogi State Executive Committee, citing Abejide’s failure to adhere to party discipline and values.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, stated that the ADC is committed to building a party governed by discipline, character, and integrity, and will not tolerate any acts of indiscipline from its members. The NWC has directed the Kogi State leadership to fill vacant positions in line with approved transition guidelines, ahead of forthcoming congresses.
Abejide, who represents Yagba Federal Constituency, had previously refused to recognize the ADC NWC led by former Senate President David Mark, insisting that his faction is the authentic one, despite the faction led by Mark being recognized by INEC.
