The Nigerian Army is set to recruit 24,000 new soldiers to boost its operational strength amid rising security challenges. Lieutenant General Waidi Shuaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, announced this plan during an operational visit to the 1 Division of the Nigerian Army in Kaduna.

- Number of Recruits: 24,000 soldiers
- Training Facilities: Three new facilities approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will train 12,000 soldiers within six months, with capacity to double the figure to 24,000 if two streams are run simultaneously

Eligibility Criteria:
- Nigerian citizen by birth
- Age: 18-22 years (non-tradesmen/women), 18-26 years (tradesmen/women)
- Minimum of 5 credits in WASSCE/NECO/GCE, including English and Mathematics
- Height: 1.68 meters (men), 1.62 meters (women)
- Medically, physically, and mentally fit
