The self-acclaimed Obi of Lagos, Chibuike Azubuike, who was arrested by police operatives in Lagos in September over a fraud scheme, has apologised to the state government and the Oba of Lagos

Chibuike Azubuike, the self-styled Obi of Lagos, has issued a public apology to the Lagos State Government and the Oba of Lagos after being arrested in September for allegedly impersonating a traditional leader. Azubuike claimed the title “Obi of Lagos” was a typographical error on his New Yam Festival invitation and apologized for any confusion. He also stated he’s not a politician and has no political motivations, and even expressed interest in joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) if he decides to join politics. The Igbo community has disowned Azubuike, calling his actions detrimental to their reputation.
