Maryam Atiku, a 20-year-old woman from Kebbi State, was arrested for allegedly burying her newborn baby girl alive. The baby was rescued by a farmer who discovered her in a shallow grave and was later found to be stable after receiving medical attention. Maryam confessed to the crime during police interrogation and will face prosecution. The Kebbi State Police Command has vowed to show zero tolerance towards child abuse and gender-based violence.
