Trump would be the first sitting U.S. president featured in Americans’ travel documents. Experts say no U.S. passport has ever included the image of a sitting president, and that no head of state appears on the passports of any country in the world.
This is part of broader 250th anniversary commemorations. The Treasury is also minting a $1 coin with Trump’s image, and his signature will start appearing on paper currency.
The State Department says the passports will feature customized artwork and enhanced imagery while maintaining the same security features.
