Human rights lawyer Ikechukwu Obasi has filed a fundamental rights enforcement suit at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja against Nollywood actress and self-acclaimed evangelist Tonto Dikeh.
According to the suit, the lawyer accused the actress of v!olating the rights of a female school student during what he described as a “vicious religious deliverance r!tual.”
The case, filed under the Fundamental Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules 2009, is seeking several declarations and court orders, including ₦200 million in damages for the alleged v!olation of the minor’s rights to dignity and privacy.
Obasi filed the lawsuit on behalf of the student, a Junior Secondary School 1 pupil of Junior Secondary School, Durumi II in Abuja, who is said to be originally from Rivers State.
