Aliko Dangote has assured Nigerians that petrol prices will continue to drop, thanks to his refinery’s increased production and competitive pricing strategy. The refinery recently slashed its ex-depot petrol price to ₦699 per litre, effective December 11, 2025, marking its 20th price adjustment this year.
Dangote plans to sell petrol at ₦739 per litre starting Tuesday, beginning with MRS stations in Lagos. He’s urged marketers to take advantage of the reduced price, saying, “We don’t want petrol sold for more than ₦740 nationwide” during December and January.
The refinery’s efforts have already boosted domestic supply by 135.6% and reduced reliance on imports. With production exceeding national demand, Dangote is optimistic about further price reductions, making fuel more affordable for Nigerians.
