Gunmen have launched a fresh attack on Lakwaya town in Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State, abducting five residents. The incident occurred on Sunday night at Zurin Mahauta village, leaving the community in fear and tension.
The village head, Murtala Mai Unguwa, confirmed the attack, stating that security operatives were immediately alerted and responded promptly. Efforts are ongoing to track down the abductors and rescue the victims.
This is not an isolated incident, as Lakwaya ward has been experiencing recurring attacks, raising concerns about security in the area. The community is calling for sustained security presence to protect lives and property.
The Nigerian Army’s 3 Brigade Public Relations Officer, Captain Babatunde Zubairu, assured that troops are working to rescue the abducted residents safely.
