President Bola Tinubu is praising the security agencies for their hard work in rescuing 100 students from Papiri Catholic School in Niger State. The students were kidnapped on November 21, and this rescue is a big relief for their families.
Tinubu has declared a national security emergency and is working with international partners, including the US and France, to tackle the growing insecurity issue in Nigeria. He’s also ordered the recruitment of more police officers and security personnel to boost security.
The rescue operation involved intense multi-agency efforts, including military, police, and community volunteer hunters. While 100 students have been freed, around 165 students and staff are still in captivity, and efforts are ongoing to secure their release.
