Akwa Ibom governor presents N1.39 Trillion 2026 budget to assembly.

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has presented a N1.39 trillion budget for the 2026 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly, titled “The People’s Budget of Expansion and Growth”. This budget represents a 16% decrease from the revised 2025 budget of N1.65 trillion.

Key Highlights:

– Recurrent Expenditure: N354.867 billion (25% of total budget)
– Capital Expenditure: N1.035 trillion (75% of total budget)
– Revenue Projection: N1.146 trillion
– Sectoral Allocations:
    – Roads and Infrastructure: N387.5 billion
    – Education: N31.6 billion
    – Health: N136.1 billion

The budget focuses on strengthening food security, improving rural living conditions, completing ongoing infrastructure projects, and initiating new ones vital for connectivity, trade, investment, and job creation. Governor Eno emphasized that the budget is citizen-oriented, reflecting inputs from town square meetings across the state.
