Terrorists have kidnapped travelers on the Wawa–Luma Road in Niger State, according to Daily Trust

Residents told reporters that the attack, which began around 4 p.m., lasted unchallenged until about 7 p.m. on Monday.

One of the sources said two passenger vehicles heading to Gupanti and Lumma communities were ambushed, and all occupants were taken away.

“Two passenger vehicles were stopped, and all the occupants were taken away. Some of the travellers were from Lumma, while others were heading to Gupanti. Another car travelling to Papiri was shot at, but the driver managed to escape.

“The terrorists rode on motorcycles, with each motorcycle carrying three armed men. One of those kidnapped was Mallam Umaru from Luma-Sanke.

“The attackers split into three groups — some were seen around Kale, others moved toward the Konkoje axis and the Wawa–Kaiama stretch, while the last group headed toward the Wawa–Luma axis,” he said.

Efforts to reach the spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, were unsuccessful, as his phone could not be reached.
