Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President of Nigeria, has thrown his weight behind the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stating that it’s the only party capable of rescuing Nigeria from its current economic and security challenges. He made this declaration while unveiling the ADC’s Taraba State office, emphasizing that the party’s leadership is capable and ready to take the reins in 2027.
Atiku’s move to the ADC comes after his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in July 2025, citing irreconcilable differences. He’s urged Nigerians, especially youths and women, to join the ADC and support its mission to restore stability, prosperity, and good governance.
However, not everyone is convinced. Senator Adams Oshiomhole has questioned Atiku’s ability to lead Nigeria, pointing out that he couldn’t even fix the PDP, which made him Vice President.
