The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of four suspects in connection with last weekend’s attack on the convoy of Governor Umar Bago in the Bida local government area.

The Niger State Police Command has indeed confirmed the arrest of four suspects linked to the attack on Governor Umar Bago’s convoy in Bida. Those arrested include:
– Ali Mohammed from Nasarafu area, Bida
– Adamu Hussain from Nasarafu area, Bida
– Isah Umaru from Darachita area, Bida
– Abdulmalik Usman Nagemu, a New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) chairmanship candidate, from Bello Masaba area, Bida

The police are currently investigating the incident and tracking down two additional suspects mentioned by those arrested: Salihu Mohammed and Abdulrahman Baba. The attack occurred on November 2, 2025, when the governor’s convoy was leaving Bida for Minna after the local government election, with reports indicating that miscreants and thugs attacked the convoy with stones and dangerous weapons, damaging several vehicles.
