FG justifies 5% fuel surcharge, insists it won’t burden Nigerians, Says its Dates Back to 2007

Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, clarified that the 5% fuel surcharge was introduced in 2007, not under President Tinubu.
He explained that it was never enforced due to subsidies and was not part of the new tax reform bills.
The levy, to be managed by FERMA, will allocate 40% of revenue to federal roads and 60% to states.
