Abi Baragon, a 46-year-old married man, has been arrested by the Rivers State Police Command for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend, Orineme Ayanate, multiple times after she rejected his marriage proposal. The attack, which left Ayanate with severe injuries, was captured in a viral video showing her crying for help while lying in a pool of blood.
The police arrested Baragon on October 13, 2025, following an investigation into the incident. He has confessed to using bottles and stabbing the victim. Ayanate is currently receiving medical treatment in the hospital. The Rivers State Commissioner of Police has commended the officers involved in the arrest and thanked the public for their support in tracking down the suspect.
