FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has claimed that governors who previously criticized him for working with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have now defected to the party. Wike sees this as vindication, stating they should commend him for paving the way for their move. Recent defections include Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah and Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, who joined the APC citing support for President Tinubu’s leadership. Wike emphasizes that Tinubu’s decisive leadership has improved states’ financial situations, enabling them to pay wages and fund projects.
