The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has suspended its nationwide strike after reaching an agreement with the Dangote Group. The agreement allows employees to unionize, ensures no victimization of workers, and requires both parties to report back to the Minister of Labour on compliance. The strike was initially called to protest Dangote’s alleged anti-union practices, but the agreement is expected to avert a potential nationwide fuel scarcity and economic crisis.
