President Bola Tinubu has ordered a comprehensive overhaul of Nigeria’s security strategy and military operations in response to recent violent attacks in Borno, Benue, Plateau, and Kwara states. The directive follows a meeting with security chiefs at the State House in Abuja, where Tinubu expressed grave concern over the continued violence and loss of innocent lives.
The president’s orders include a complete review of the country’s security approach, deployment of advanced military hardware and surveillance equipment like drones, and collaboration with local governments and community leaders to address security issues. Tinubu also instructed security agencies to work closely with governors and state authorities to find lasting solutions to insecurity.
This decision comes after a series of violent attacks, including a recent massacre in Borno’s Darajamal community, resulting in significant loss of life. The aim is to restore peace and security in the affected regions and hold those responsible accountable.
