The Kaduna State Police Command has summoned former Governor Nasir El-Rufai and seven top chieftains of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for questioning over alleged criminal conspiracy, incitement of public disturbance, mischief, and causing grievous hurt. The invitees include:
– Nasir El-Rufai, former Governor of Kaduna State
– Bashir Sa’idu
– Jafaru Sani, ADC North-West Vice Chairman
– Ubaidullah Mohammed, aka 30
– Nasiru Maikano
– Aminu Abita
– Ahmed Rufa’i Hussaini, aka Mikiya
The police invitation, dated September 4, 2025, directs the ADC Kaduna State Chairman to produce El-Rufai and the other party members at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on September 8, 2025, to clarify allegations reported against them. The summons follows a violent incident at an ADC meeting in Kaduna last week, which the state government blamed on El-Rufai’s provocative actions and inflammatory statements. El-Rufai, however, denies the allegations, claiming the government is trying to silence opposition voices.
