The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has accused Google, the BBC, and the British Government of colluding with the Nigerian authorities to undermine justice in the ongoing case of its detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu. IPOB claims that Google has deliberately refused to publish current developments in Kanu’s trial, while promoting biased BBC Pidgin reports that recycle discredited prosecution evidence.
IPOB accuses Google and the BBC of manipulating global opinion and suppressing truth to destroy freedom.
The group alleges that the three parties are engaged in a coordinated propaganda campaign ahead of the October 10, 2025, ruling by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
IPOB claims that Kanu’s rights are being violated, and the trial is a sham, with the outcome already predetermined.
Nnamdi Kanu has been detained since June 2021, when he was extradited to Nigeria from Kenya. His family has also accused the UK government of complicity in his detention, citing a pattern of hypocrisy and support for Nigerian impunity. Kanu’s trial has been ongoing, with IPOB labeling it a “sham” and calling for its termination.
