Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State says he can wip£ out b♡nditry in the state within two months if he is given full control of security agencies.
In a viral video, the governor said he knows where the b♡ndit leaders are hiding but cannot act because security operatives only take orders from Abuja.
“I sw£ar by Almighty Allah, wherever a b♡ndit leader is in Zamfara State, I know. If he moves, I know. With my phone, I can show you their locations today. But we cannot act beyond our powers,” Lawal said.
He became emotional as he spoke about residents suffering constant att♡cks while security forces delay action. He recalled an incident in Shinkafi where security agents failed to respond quickly because they were waiting for approval from the federal authorities.
“If today I have the power to give orders to the security agencies, I can assure you b♡nditry in Zamfara will end within two months. Many times I shed t£ars for my people, because I see the problem but cannot order the security men to act,” he added.
Lawal explained that despite his limited powers, his government has supported security agencies with 150 patrol vehicles, thousands of Community Protection Guards, and 2,000 hunters from Borno and Yobe.
He also accused some politicians of frustrating efforts to end insecurity. “The politicisation of insecurity is not hÙrting me as a person; it is destroying Zamfara. Some people do not want us to succeed. But I will not stop trying,” the governor stated.
