Nigeria has officially bid to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Abuja, marking a significant step in the country’s sports development journey. The Nigerian Olympic Committee submitted its expression of interest before the deadline, and National Sports Commission chairman Shehu Dikko has thrown his weight behind the bid.
The bid is expected to attract major investments in sports infrastructure, boost the sports economy, and provide lasting facilities for athletes. Dikko emphasized that hosting the Games would showcase Nigeria’s development, elevate its global profile, and strengthen its sports culture.
