The Federal Government has warned that nine states and 15 communities in the northern region of Nigeria may experience heavy rainfall that could trigger flooding between August 25 and August 29, 2025. Given the ongoing rainy season in Nigeria, residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions.
Nigeria typically experiences heavy rainfall in August, with an average total precipitation of 102.7 mm over more than 24 rainy days. The country’s weather forecast predicts temperatures to be around 26°C, close to the historical average.
