Paternity case gets even more complicated after
two of the three court-approved laboratories have declined to perform the DNA test for Liam, the child claimed to be the son of late singer Mohbad.
AlphaBioLabs in the UK and Advanced Histopathology Laboratory Limited UK notified the Lagos Magestrate court that they do not conduct post-mortem DNA testing on embalmed bodies. Since Mohbad’s remains were embalmed following his death in September 2023, these facilities lack the technical capacity for the required tissue-based analysis.
The only remaining facility, DNA Diagnostics Center in the United States (nominated by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba), is currently the only one potentially capable of proceeding, though the court’s original mandate required results from three separate labs to ensure matching outcomes.
This situation adds complexity to the ongoing dispute between Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, and his widow, Wunmi.
