Kunle Remi is celebrating Michael B. Jordan’s Oscar win, but he’s also throwing shade at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) organizers. He said that at the Oscars, winners get their awards engraved with their names immediately, unlike AMVCA where winners supposedly share a trophy and collect it at the next event 😂. Remi’s comments sparked online discussion, with some pointing out that AMVCA winners usually receive their plaques during the ceremony unless they’re absent.
This isn’t the first time Remi’s criticized AMVCA – back in 2023, he expressed disappointment after not receiving a nomination despite his role in “Anikulapo”, which got 16 nominations.
