This impressive jump of 12 places is thanks to their outstanding performance at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where they secured a bronze medal. Nigeria gained 79.09 ranking points, the highest increase achieved by any nation in the latest update.
The Eagles’ rise in rankings puts them behind only AFCON winners Senegal (12th globally) and Morocco (8th globally) in Africa. Algeria and Egypt follow Nigeria in 4th and 5th place, respectively, on the African ranking.
