86-yearold General Moses Ali has WOn an election in Ugandas

86-year-old General Moses Ali has won the election in Uganda’s Adjumani West Constituency, securing his seat as Member of Parliament for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party. He garnered 12,854 votes, defeating opposition candidates Patrick Tandrupasi (11,770 votes), Gasper Draga (522 votes), and Stephen Lyo (293 votes). General Ali’s campaign focused on completing key infrastructure projects, including the Laropi bridge over the Nile, health facility upgrades, and improved access to water and electricity.

General Ali, a veteran politician and former military officer, has served in multiple government roles, including Second Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Leader of Government Business in Parliament. His re-election has sparked debate, with some activists citing concerns about his advanced age and frail health.
