Governor Ademola Adeleke has signed the 2026 Appropriation Bill into law, marking a significant milestone in Osun State’s budgetary process. The budget, totaling ₦723.45 billion, aims to drive economic transformation, enhance infrastructure, and improve social services, with a focus on education, healthcare, agriculture, and economic empowerment.
Key highlights of the budget include:
– Capital Expenditure: ₦402.68 billion (55% of the budget) allocated for infrastructure development and capital projects
– Recurrent Expenditure: ₦320.77 billion (45% of the budget) for personnel costs and overheads
– Revenue Projections: ₦16.19 billion opening balance, ₦421.25 billion recurrent revenue, and ₦286 billion capital receipts
Governor Adeleke emphasized his administration’s commitment to full implementation, prioritizing people’s welfare, and completing ongoing projects. The budget signing ceremony was attended by top officials, including the Deputy Governor, Speaker of the House, and members of the state cabinet.
