Talks with foreign investors, including a Lebanese firm, are at an advanced stage. The goal is to tackle insecurity through job creation and economic empowerment.
The revival plan includes:
– Aba Textile Mill: Discussions with stakeholders and AMCON for acquisition and reactivation are ongoing.
– Star Paper Mill: Abia State Government has received approval from AMCON to take over and revitalize it.
– Other industries: Afro Beverages, International Equitable Association, and Ken Biscuits are also being considered for revival.
This move aims to transform Aba into a thriving hub for textiles, leather production, and MSMEs, generating massive employment opportunities and contributing to Abia’s economic development.
