The Nigeria Police Force has announced the arrest of a suspect, Okitipi Samuel.

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested Okitipi Samuel, also known as “0365” and Moses Felix, for allegedly hacking into Microsoft’s database. Samuel is accused of creating phishing links and fake Microsoft login pages to steal user credentials and access corporate, financial, and educational institutions’ email accounts.

The investigation, led by the National Cybercrime Centre, was prompted by Microsoft and the FBI, revealing Samuel’s Telegram channel sold phishing links for cryptocurrency. Two other suspects, Joshua and James, were also arrested but are considered victims of identity theft.

Samuel faces charges under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2024, for identity theft, unlawful access to computer systems, and malicious software distribution. The police assure Nigerians of their commitment to protecting the country’s digital space.
