The Nigerian Senate has confirmed 64 ambassadorial nominees, comprising 34 career diplomats and 30 non-career ambassadors, to represent the country abroad. The confirmed nominees include notable figures such as Femi Fani-Kayode, Reno Omokri, and Ibok-Ete Ibas, among others.
The confirmation followed a report by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, which screened the nominees and found them suitable for the positions. Senator Sani Bello, Chairman of the Committee, presented the report, highlighting the nominees’ experience and qualifications.

– Adeola-Ibrahim Mopelola (Ogun)
– Ramat Omonbolale (Lagos)
– Monica Okechukwu Enebechi (Anambra)
– Non-Career Ambassadors:
– Ajimobi Florence (Oyo)
– Sulola Akande (Oyo)
– Uguwanyi Ifeanyi (Enugu)
– Ita Enang (Akwa Ibom)
– Femi Fani-Kayode (Osun)
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, assured that the list was not exhaustive and that more ambassadorial nominees are expected, including representation from Zamfara State, which was omitted in the current list.
