Ibom Air is set to take off internationally in April 2026, according to Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo. The airline will operate from Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, which has been upgraded to handle international flights.
The airport boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a brand-new international terminal and a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility, meeting global aviation standards. Keyamo praised the Akwa Ibom State government for their efforts, saying they’re ahead of schedule.
This development is expected to boost tourism, trade, job creation, and regional connectivity, strengthening Nigeria’s aviation footprint globally. Ibom Air’s international debut will mark a significant milestone for the airline and the country’s aviation industry.
