The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is set to prosecute popular TikToker Peller, aka Habeeb Hamzat, for reckless driving, use of phone while driving, and distracted driving. This follows a viral video where Peller was live-streaming while driving, resulting in a car crash on the Lekki-Epe Expressway in Lagos.
FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, emphasized that fame doesn’t exempt anyone from traffic laws and urged entertainment associations and influencer networks to promote responsible conduct on Nigerian roads. Peller’s actions were deemed unlawful and dangerous, posing risks to himself and other road users.
The prosecution aims to deter similar incidents and reinforce road safety efforts. Nigerians are encouraged to report dangerous driving behaviors and support collective efforts to make highways safer.
