God will p#nish you now and forever -IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, tells prosecuting COunsel in court

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), was found guilty of terrorism charges by a Federal High Court in Abuja today. He was convicted on three counts, including making broadcast threats, enforcing an illegal sit-at-home order, and belonging to a proscribed organization.

The prosecution had argued that Kanu’s statements incited violence and undermined Nigeria’s sovereignty. Kanu, however, maintained that he was innocent and had been unfairly tried. In a dramatic courtroom exchange, Kanu warned the prosecuting counsel, “God will punish you now and forever”.

Kanu’s trial has been marked by controversy, with his defense team alleging irregularities and executive overreach. The IPOB leader had previously accused prosecution witnesses of perjury and filed a criminal complaint against them.

The court’s judgment has sparked intense interest, with many awaiting the outcome. Kanu’s supporters have been vocal, and the case has drawn international attention.
