Dr. Pedro Luis Ripoll (Sports Injury Specialist) talks about Lamine Yamal pubalgia injury

Lamine is fighting the battle of an 18- or 19-year-old player trying to avoid surgery and resume his career.
As we know, Lamine is suffering from pubalgia, a condition characterized by an injury in the area where the adductor muscles and the rectus abdominis attach.
This causes pain — and as we see in the following image, that pain has recently been treated with a minimally invasive technique that involves inserting needles into the painful area.
These needles deliver high-frequency electromagnetic waves aimed at affecting the nerves to reduce the sensation of pain, influencing blood flow to reduce inflammation, and increasing mobility in the area. This technique does not heal the injury; it is palliative treatment meant to relieve pain.
In other words, the player is still in the midst of a long-term injury.
We did not share the optimism that appeared in recent matches where the player looked better
