Ice Prince, born Panshak Henry Zamani on October 30, 1986, in Minna, Niger State, Nigeria, is a renowned Nigerian hip-hop recording artist and actor. He rose to fame with his hit single “Oleku,” one of Nigeria’s most remixed songs.
Early Life and Education
Ice Prince grew up in Jos, Plateau State, where he attended St. Murumba College and Science Tutorial College. He began writing rap songs in 1999 and performing at social events. He later studied Zoology at the University of Jos but dropped out due to financial constraints.
Music Career
Ice Prince’s music career took off in 2004 with his debut single “Extraordinary.” He joined the “Loopy Crew” with M.I, Jesse Jagz, and others, releasing his debut album “Everybody Loves Ice Prince” in 2011. Subsequent albums include “Fire of Zamani” (2013) and “Jos to the World” (2016).
Awards and Recognition
Ice Prince has won several awards, including Best International Act: Africa at the BET Awards (2013) and Best Rap Act of the Year at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards (2014).
Personal Life
Ice Prince has a son, Jamal, with Bimbo Babatunde. He founded his record label, Super Cool Cats, in 2015 and has collaborated with international artists.
