Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri and 23 lawmakers have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). This move comes a day after Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah also joined the APC, marking significant political shifts in Nigeria. Governor Diri’s resignation was confirmed by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah, ending months of speculation about his party affiliation. With this defection, the PDP now controls eight states.
